WebOnce a thriving mill town located on Capps Creek in SW Missouri (south of Pierce City), the community was obliterated by the "Baldknobbers" after the Civil War. Using the torch, the "Baldknobbers" burned almost every building in the area. Left standing are the mill (Jolly Mill) and a church. WebCapps Creek, which flows westward to Shoal Creek, receives most of its year-round flow from springs, creating a coldwater stream that has provided a trout management opportunity for more than 30 years. Both rainbow and brown trout are present. The area is made up of small, wet bottomlands and rolling upland forests and grasslands.
